NLU Business prof in the spotlight
From time to time, our web site will feature profiles of faculty or learning assistance professionals. We call this feature “Faculty Spotlight”, and it currently highlights Catherine Honig from NLU's College of Management and Business. Visitors who click on Faculty Spotlight may read about how Catherine "goes the distance" for her students and in her personal life.
CAD earns CRLA certification for its tutor training program
The College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) is an international professional organization concerned with learning assistance for post-secondary students. CRLA certification of CAD's tutor training program means that tutors completing the program are recognized for their expertise at three levels: regular, advanced and master. Each level requires a number of hours of training and actual experience tutoring students. The training is designed to improve the tutors’ instructional and communication skills, and give them more background in the subject matter which they are tutoring. In June of 2006, CRLA re-certified CAD's program for three years.
Elke Kleisch, who was CAD coordinator in Chicago at the time, led the project to obtain program certification.
