The NLU Service Learning Team is excited to share a service learning opportunity. The NLU-NOLA project committee has partnered with KIPP Central City Academy,a 5th- 8th grade middle school, to bring teams of students, faculty, staff and alumni to help prepare their school for August 2008 opening.

We continue to work with the principal to arrange for groups of NLU students, faculty, staff and alumni to travel to New Orleans this summer. The school’s needs include (but are not limited to):

Student pre-assessment

Advice and training on a literacy program

Advice and training on a math program

Assistance in expanding the library

Collection of school supplies
