National-Louis University’s 2nd Annual Service Fair

Join us at National-Louis University’s Chicago campus for our second annual Service Fair featuring non-profit and public service organizations from throughout the Chicago-land area.

Date my Non-Profit: The forum will feature representatives of several participating organizations discussing the traits and profession skills desirable in the industry.  2:30 – 3:30 PM

Service Fair: Business casual dress is encouraged; feel free to bring business cards and resumes as organizations will be looking to take on volunteers, interns, and part and full-time employment. 4:00 – 6:30 PM

This event is free and open to the public.

Brown Bag Lunch March 6, 2007
Students and faculty gathered to learn more about service-learning inclusion and potential projects for courses. Dr. Antonina Lukenchuk and her students highlighted aspects of their research. All left with a better understanding of the power pedagogy of Service-Learning.

Dr. Patrick Green, the Director of Experimental Education Center at Loyola University, gave the keynote address, Reflection as Meaning-Making: Mediating Learning in Service-Learning, stressing the importance of reflection in bringing out deep academic content through service-learning. Roundtable presentations highlighted service-learning projects at NLU.

Civic Engagement Center Open House

Students, staff and faculty are invited to learn about what civic engagement is, ways to get involved, and meet with faculty members who are already participating in academic service-learning in their classrooms. Lunch will be provided.

All NLU students are welcome to the Service, Education, Responsibility, Volunteering, Internships and Civic Engagement (SERVICE) Fair to meet with nonprofit organizations for volunteering and internship opportunities. Suggested donation for all attendees is $2. Enter for a chance to win a $50 gas card and a Barnes & Noble gift card.
