An Introduction to the Comprehensive Literacy Model (CLM) K-9

This institute will introduce a seamless comprehensive school improvement framework that uses a workshop approach for differentiating instruction, including whole-group, small group, and one-to-one conferences. Organizational and instructional methods will be discussed,including guided reading, literature discussion groups, shared reading,mini-lessons, and other literacy-related topics. 

A variety of speakers will present on topics related to leadership, literacy coaching, professional learning communities, intervention groups for struggling learners,and systematic assessment systems. Video examples and materials from schools will illustrate how school teams are currently implementing comprehensive literacy framework.

FEES

Early registration by May 13, 2011:

  • $650 Individual
  • $600 per person if 2 or more register at the same tome from the same district

CPDUS and ACADEMIC CREDIT:

CPDUs and 2 semester hours of Graduate Credit for each institute are available. Optional 2 semester graduate credit hours will be available through National-Louis University for an additional fee.  When you register you will receive graduate credit information in an email. Continuing Professional Development Units (CPDUs) will be available at the institutes for eligible Illinois-certified teachers who are working on their certificate renewal.
