You can answer yes to this question if you received your diploma dated December 31, 2007, or you have submitted your Diploma and Degree Finalization form for either the March, June or August 2008 diploma dates.
If you have not completed the Diploma and Degree Finalization form, please visit the website of the Registrar at http://www.nl.edu/oar/degrees/. Participation in the commencement ceremony does not mean that you are receiving a degree or diploma. You must complete the Diploma and Degree finalization form in order to receive your degree and diploma.

If you attend an online group and live in the Metro DC area and have received your diploma dated December 31, 2007, or you have submitted your Diploma and Degree Finalization form for either the March, June or August 2008 diploma dates, you are welcome to attend the NV/DC commencement ceremony. Please be sure you register online to attend the McLean Ceremony.

How do I register for the Commencement Ceremony?
You may register for the commencement ceremony online as a part of the Degree & Diploma Finalization process:

The deadline to register is April 16, 2008.
Commencement registrants will be sent an e-mail (to your NLU e-mail account ONLY) Confirmation Receipt within 5 business days. All confirmed commencement participants should receive a detailed information packet by May 14, 2008.
Students who have not registered for commencement will not be able to participate in the ceremony.
How do I order my cap and gown?
Your cap and gown and other commencement attire may be ordered through Traditions, USA by mail, fax, on-line or phone. Specific ordering details can be found on www.traditionsusa.com or on the Commencement Website. Your academic attire will be mailed to your home two weeks prior to the ceremony. In order to avoid late and/or rush fees, please order your commencement attire prior to April 16, 2008.
Commencement is a formal academic ceremony and dress should be appropriate to the occasion. Business or special occasion attire is acceptable. Please do not wear gym shoes, sandals, shorts or jeans.
Undergraduate students will be wearing a black cap and gown, as well as a tassel in the color appropriate to your college.
Graduate students will be wearing a black cap and gown, tassel, and hood in the color appropriate to your college.
How many guests can attend?
Eligible students will be sent ten tickets in the information packet that will be mailed the first week of May. One of these tickets will be for the student/graduate. This packet will also include specific instructions, maps and directions. If additional tickets are needed, contact Will Oler at 202-661-5801 by May 28, 2008.
