This is really goofy. It doesn't draw me into an academic environment which displays qualities such as professionalism, learnedness, interaction, and cooperative learning. The image it displays is a stark contrast to the type of school I would want to attend.

I understand that being light-hearted and silly is a way to grab people's attention. There's certainly nothing wrong with that. But the commercial is kind of cheesy and a little negative, especially towards the community college student who has earned an associate degree. Do you really want to give them the impression that they're gonna fail? Or that what they've accomplished means nothing? It's too bad this video couldn't have been more positive or more focused. NLU has an opportunity to reach a lot of potential students with the Youtube video and the billboards around town.

The first episode seemed to attempt to humiliate a future student into getting their BA degree. It sends the message that anyone who does not have their BA degree is scum and "will fail" without one. If your target audience is the community college student this is not a very positive way to attract a student to your school by demoting their efforts and accomplishments so far.

The second episode was very violent and not positive at all!

I'd hate to see what the guy has to go through when he decides to get a Master's.

@carol
The B-list Chronicles are a light-hearted, fun, innovative and creative way to reach our younger target market--on their own turf--YouTube. This new territory is exciting for us, and I feel the creative direction of the "Be" videos is spot on for our community college audience.

Boy meets Girl. Boy courts Girl. Girl likes Boy. They shack up. Time goes by. Girl sees no future. Girl leaves. Boy gets scared. Boy had better do something.

I got it.

You have to be kidding! "Be a B??"
This campaign is in no way is "in tune with youth culture" and it is an insult. Congratualtions NLU, you are now well known....for horrible ad campaigns.
