UAAC Awards

Become a Student of the Quarter

The Undergraduate Academic Advising Center will select three NLU undergraduate students each term to receive the Student of the Quarter Award.  Students who display a commitment to lead, learn and excel at NLU will be chosen by a selection committee of advisors.

The Selection Process
Nominations are done by completing the application form found on this page and by submitting a one page statement.  Students may nominate themselves, or faculty, staff, and students may nominate any NLU undergraduate student for consideration.

Criteria
- The nominee must be an undergraduate student at NLU
- The nominee must have an overall GPA of a 3.0 or higher
- The nominee must be in good academic, financial and judicial standing with the university
- The nominee must have demonstrated a proactive and successful approach to meeting his/her degree completion requirements
- The nominee must have demonstrated professionalism, enthusiasm, respect, and initiative beyond the expectations of those already being met by peers
- When self-nominated, the nominee can also describe an obstacle or challenge faced during the quarter and how they overcame that obstacle and learned from it

The Award
Winners will be announced each term in The National, NLU's student newspaper.  Winners will receive a letter from the Director of Academic Advising, and will be recognized at the annual NLU Awards Ceremony.

Details
All award decisions are the the discretion of the UAAC Awards Committee and the Director of Academic Advising.

Nominations
The deadline for spring term Student of the Quarter nominations is March 31, 2010.
