NATIONAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
DOCTORAL PROGRAMS
SCHOLARSHIP POLICIES AND APPLICATION PROCEDURES
NCE Doctoral Program students who are already admitted to an NCE Doctoral Program (EDL, EdPsy, Reading, CSI, DEE) are eligible to apply for a scholarship to cover part or all of their tuition. There is a small amount of scholarship money available for students accepted during each admission cycle (April and October). This document outlines what you will need to do if you wish to apply for a doctoral scholarship.
Because the size of the scholarship fund is limited, priority is given to doctoral students on the basis of need and few, if any, full-tuition scholarships are available.
If you wish to apply for a doctoral scholarship, choose between one of the options below:
1. Obtain and submit a hard copy of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) renewal form in the envelope provided with the form. NLU’s school code is E00787.
2. Or go online to
www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the FAFSA online. NLU’s school code is E00787.
The online FAFSA is the most effective way of submitting your FAFSA but both forms of submission require that you complete the process immediately.
By July 25, 2008, submit the NCE Doctoral Programs Scholarship Application form and a copy of your 2007 tax returns to Dr. Jerry Ligon, Associate Dean, Director of NCE Doctoral Programs, Wheeling Campus.
* If you have questions about the FAFSA, please contact financial aid at 800-443-5522 ext. 2231.
* If you have questions about the doctoral scholarship, please contact
Dr. Ligon at ext. 5699.
