Professional Organizations for Educators

  • National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
    Founded in 1926, NAEYC, the nation’s largest and most influential organization of early childhood educators, constantly is striving to improve professional practice and working conditions in early childhood education and to build public support for high-quality early childhood programs for children from birth through third grade.
  • National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) NCATE is the teaching profession’s mechanism to help to establish high quality teacher, specialist, and administrator preparation. Through the process of professional accreditation of schools, colleges and departments of education, NCATE works to make a difference in the quality of teaching, teachers, school specialists and administrators. NCATE believes every student deserves a caring, competent and highly qualified teacher
  • Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
    The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or gifted students.
