B.A. in Liberal Arts Studies from the CAS with a biology major

A student completing this program will obtain a liberal education with a broad understanding of biology.

Requirements

  1. Students must complete 45 quarter hours of biological science courses. Appropriate general education courses may be counted toward this total. 25 of the 45 quarter hours of must be upper level, and a minimum of 15 of the 25 quarter hours must be taken at NLU.
  2. Students must complete a second 45 quarter hour major or two 30 quarter hour minors to earn this degree.
  3. Biology majors must complete 27 quarter hours of specified physical science courses.

Biology majors are required to complete 25-27 quarter hours of physical science courses. These students may wish to apply physical science credits towards a minor or a second major in order to complete the degree requirements of CAS.

Minor in Biology

A student completing this program will obtain a liberal education with a moderate understanding of biology.

Requirements

  1. Students must complete 30 quarter hours of biological science courses (including appropriate general education courses).
  2. Ten of the 30 quarter hours must be upper level courses, and five of these ten must be taken at NLU.
