The Art Department views art as one of the great humanizing forces of the world- a universal language that communicates without words, revealing basic truths about human beings throughout the ages. The general goal of the Art Department is to introduce to and develop in the students an understanding of the nature, range and values of art, as well as the function of art in the cultivated person, prospective elementary teacher and other professionals The Art Department hopes to inspire an enthusiasm and appreciation of the visual arts throughout one's life. This is accomplished by providing students with opportunities to experience the aesthetic creations of man as well as to develop their creativity through the various components of the art curriculum (studio, theory, history and methodology)
