Overview
The University
National-Louis University has been a leader in education since its beginning in 1886 as National College of Education. Innovation has been a part of its 100-year history--first with programs for children like PTA and Head Start, then more recently with programs for adults. For more than a decade, these programs have been meeting the emerging educational needs of the adult learner.
Today, National-Louis University is a diverse institution with undergraduate and graduate programs in areas including adult education, business, education human services, allied health, and computer information systems. With a commitment to making degree completion accessible to the working adult, National-Louis University maintains multiple campuses/centers located in the United States, Poland and Germany. In addition to three Chicago-area locations (downtown Chicago, Evanston, and Wheaton), campuses are located in McLean, VA; St. Louis, MO; Milwaukee/Beloit, WI; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; and Heidelburg, Germany.
Accreditation
National-Louis University is accredited by the North Central Association of College and Schools.
Adult and Continuing Education (ACE)
Learning is a lifelong process which extends far beyond formal schooling. Adult education assists mature women and men realize their complementary potential for responsibility and control. Adults learn to act responsibly as citizens, workers, and family members. Today's adult educator must possess vision as well as tools, theory as well as practical skill, to promote active learning and reflection among adults who are increasingly asked to make socially responsible decisions that assist in solving local and global problems.
