As a Chicago native (born and raised in Logan Square), I am an avid Cubs fan and a walking ad for my city -- in fact, I've never left; attending grammar school (that's what it was called then) through graduate school in Chicago.

After receiving a Bachelor of Education degree from Northeastern University, I taught middle and upper grades in a Chicago public school. While teaching, I simultaneously attended graduate school, completing a Master of Library Science degree. I then worked as an elementary school librarian in Chicago and later in the suburbs.

Since 1986, I have worked at National-Louis University (NLU) as Public Services Librarian/Coordinator of the Chicago Campus Library. As faculty, I am also involved with faculty governance and am currently Chair of the Library Faculty. I am very active in my professional organization, the American Library Association, and enjoy participating in their conferences.

One of the things I enjoy most about my job at NLU is working with adult students, recognizing their unique and diverse learning styles, tailoring my teaching to meet their needs, and making them feel comfortable using a library. I have also experienced first hand, the challenges of being an adult student, as I recently obtained a Master of Science in Management degree from National-Louis University.

I am married to an Englishman, have two sons, ages 22 and 24, and enjoy reading, traveling, socializing, and having fun.
