Welcome to Applied Behavioral Sciences (ABS)If you are an adult who seeks an accelerated major for a Bachelor's degree, the Applied Behavioral Sciences major could be for you. National-Louis University's senior level major in the Applied Behavioral Sciences is uniquely designed to develop the thinking skills and knowledge essential to your preparation for the 21st century. Whether you are entering or reentering employment, laying the foundation for graduate study, or seeking a promotion or a job change, you can benefit from both the breadth and depth of the Applied Behavioral Sciences major.
Socrates once suggested that "learning requires an active mind." True to that idea, the ABS program was specifically designed for the adult learner who was (a) tired of taking one course at a time ("Will I ever finish?!") and (b) eager to be with other adult learners who had been in the real world, too.
Specifically, the power of the ABS program lies in the interaction between the individual's prior learning experiences and the theoretical and applied perspectives brought to the group by other group members, the professor and accompanying course texts. The Learner is then asked to test these ideas out in his or her professional/personal world immediately! In short, the ABS program is about "applied learning."
Program applicants are required to have completed a minimum of two years undergraduate study for this program which lasts approximately 13 months (including breaks). An Enrollment Representative will explain the degree-completion process to you (e.g., additional ways to earn hours toward graduation).
This program has prepared individuals for promotions, careers in human services, administration, human relations or as preparation for graduate study in many professions (e.g., law, psychology, business and education).
Simply, the ABS program offers the adult learner a solution to completing your degree!
