Welcome to the Office of the Provost

ul 4.25.13 At National Louis University, we firmly believe the transformative power of education should be available to all who seek it, from first-generation students to lifelong learners. As provost, I provide leadership for all academic activities at NLU, ensuring excellent academics and educational experiences for our students and support for faculty teaching, research and scholarship.

As the first in my family to attend college, I know personally what it feels like to embark on the path of higher education with a sense of discovery but also with a need for experienced guidance. The Office of the Provost leads the departments that support our students' academic, professional, and personal goals. I work closely with our deans overseeing our National College of Education, College of Management and Business, and College of Arts and Sciences. We work collaboratively with other academic support areas, including the Academic Advising Center (which guides students in designing and completing their degree plans), the library and Learning Support  (where students access tutoring, library and information resources), the Registrar's and Financial Aid offices.

Along with faculty colleagues across the university, we put students first and are committed to providing creative, engaged adult learning at the undergraduate and graduate levels. My office is attuned to discovering opportunities for students to use talents they already possess and match these to their professional aspirations and leadership roles in their communities. The diversity of experiences our students bring to the classroom is an essential part of our learning environment. I am proud to be a steward of NLU's 125-year promise to provide the opportunity for education, which today means 21st century skills, including critical thinking, effective communication, global thinking, technology literacy, collaboration and innovation. Whether you’re the first in your family to go to college, are returning to finish a degree or are starting a program while working full time and caring for a family, National Louis can support you on your way to success.

Welcome to NLU. We're so glad that you've joined our community.

Christine J. Quinn, Ph.D.
Provost and Professor
